@Jwalsh wow you're right! I'm not sure why the data has Ned dying alongside Viserys in ep6 (Would have been a crazy episode!). This coupling may have led me to overcorrect for early deaths by adding too large of a survivorship bonus.

You bring up a great point about early deaths of characters that first appeared to be significant to the entire show, but ended up being killed off early (King Rob & Khal Drogo). This is likely another form of intangible I couldn't necessarily account for: subversion in death timing.
